What to Expect

The term “back pain” casts a very wide net. We have found that individuals with chronic back pain often have unique contributing factors to their pain, and exactly how their pain presents. For this reason, the assessment is dynamic and takes time. Our goal is to understand your specific pain mechanism and address it.

A McGill Assessment takes approximately 3 hours. This involves reviewing your history and goals. We will perform a hands-on evaluation, movement assessment, postural assessment, and loaded assessments (in certain cases). These variables make your case unique and help us lay out your plan moving forward.

Your plan will include postural recommendations, exercises, movement cues, and other strategies tailored to you to help you progress pain-free.

Many clients walk out with decreased pain and/or an improved understanding of their pain drivers. It is what comes after this session that is most important. Your desire and willingness to implement specific strategies must happen beyond the doors of our facility.

Follow-Up

Dependent upon your case-specific details you may require additional sessions. We understand that you have likely been down a long road before coming to us. We are happy to accommodate follow-up requests to review exercises, movements, treatment recommendations, and more. We may recommend a follow-up for certain clients who will require a progression beyond their first program. Those with higher-level athletic goals will likely require follow-up as they progress to higher levels of performance training.
